Wine Description
Wine from the Beach! This blend of Malvasia, Galego Dourado, and Jampal offers a lovely nose of ripe stone fruit, and white flowers. Crisp on the palette, medium-bodied with fresh peach, pineapple core and a delightful, delicately bitter finish.
The CHAO wines are grown in the Colares wine region near Lisbon on the Atlantic Coast of Portugal. To plant the vines, the sand is excavated and the vines planted on the clay layer beneath, about 12-16 feet down, and then the cane is progressively buried in sand as it grows. This practice has resulted in the survival of the most acreage (12-14) of pre-phylloxera vines in Europe.
